We welcome Lee & Bobbi Feldhaus to our GALA team and thank them for accepting the position of General Chairs representing St. Wenceslaus. The Feldhaus’s son, Jacob is in the 3rd grade at St. Wenceslaus. As Lee & Bobbi come on we say good-bye to Dave & Ann Engel. We thank them for their years of service to GALA. It may seem hard to believe, but Gala is just around the corner. This years GALA will be held on Saturday, April 24, at the Bishop Neumann High School Gymnasium. The evening will begin with a social hour and Silent Auction at 5:00 p.m. An elegant dinner catered by Mistys of Lincoln will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the Live Auction at 8:30 p.m. This year’s spirited theme is “A GALA Fiesta” The GALA committees will strive to provide our guests with a memorable evening in a fun fiesta atmosphere. So mark your calendars and talk to your friends, families and alumni about joining us for this fun evening. Volunteer to Help There are numerous opportunities for parents, grandparents, alumni and friends of our schools to GET INVOLVED. Decorations for the theme “A GALA Fiesta” will creatively turn the cafeteria, halls and gym at Neumann into something you will never forget. If you would like to help with any aspect of GALA, please contact Sheri Meduna. Gifts We are still in need of many gifts to add to our Silent and Live Auctions. Please contact or bring to school any gifts you would like to add. We would like to know about all gifts by the end of February so we can get them in the GALA catalog. Gifts are a very important part of our GALA. The funds made from our auctions directly help each of our three Catholic Schools. Win $10,000 Don’t miss the golden opportunity to participate in an exciting raffle. Only 325 tickets are being sold for $100 each. You have a chance of winning the grand prize of $10,000 and two $1,000 and a $500 prize. On the evening of GALA the drawing will be held during the Live Auction. The winner does not need to be present to win. If you are interested in buying a raffle ticket you can contact Bishop Neumann at 443-4151 or just stop by the school. Sheri Meduna GALA Coordinator – Alumni Director Phone – 402-443-4151 GALA 2009 Distributed $141,000 to Our Saunders County Catholic Schools As a reward for everyone’s hard work and generosity, GALA 2009 was a huge success and distributed $141,000 to help the three Saunders County Catholic Schools. A big thank you goes out to all who played any part in making this event again successful. From the beautiful decorations, the delicious food to the wonderful gifts every part of GALA continues to keep getting better and that’s because of you. The first prize of $10,000 in our GALA raffle was won by Eugene and Mary Benes of Valparaiso. The 2nd and 3rd prize winners of $1000 each were; (1) Michelle Spicka, and (2) Greg Henrichson. The 4th prize of $500 went to Kae Sanderson.
Planning has Started for GALA 2010 Planning has already started for GALA 2010 and will continue throughout the whole year. With so many people helping and making sacrifices for our schools and students, we want to make sure we do our best to make this event as successful as it has been in the past. One of the facets of GALA that has made GALA work in the past is our gift gathering parties. We are having a hard time finding people to host these parties. In our busy lives it is always hard to add one more thing to our list, but if you can help us out in this area it would be very much appreciated. Some ideas for parties are Christmas party, Superbowl party, Vegas Night or just an evening to get together with friends. In order to get the gifts in our catalog in a timely manner it is nice to have all the parties finished by the end of February. If you are interested in hosting a party contact Sheri at Neumann. Also, WE NEED HELP! We have openings for chair-people and anyone that can help - even just a little. You will be working with a super group of talented people. God has gifted us all differently and we can use those talents in our own special area.
